NBA东部球队名字由来：绿军原本要叫独角兽、尼克斯其实是灯笼裤
身为NBA球迷，你可能看了很多年比赛，可能对每个球员都了若指掌。但你有没有想过一件事：NBA球队的名字由来是什么？其实，有些和其背后城市的文化风俗有关，有些纯粹就是出自于球队老板的兴趣喜好等等。下面跟着我的脚步，一同看看NBA东部球队的名字由来。
多伦多猛龙
猛龙队，作为唯一一支非美国领土的NBA球队，猛龙的成立时间，是NBA联盟当中最晚的。1994年多伦多决定创办一支职业篮球队，当时球队老板就发起投票活动，邀请民众一同来取一下队伍名称，而当时正是科幻电影《侏㑩纪公园》最夯的时候，因此最终便决定以Raptors作为球队的象征。
迈阿密热火
热火也算是相当年轻的球队，1988 年，迈阿密当地要成立职业篮球队，并同样以投票方式选出最好的队伍名称，据传当时一共高达2 万多个选项，其中包含像是鲨鱼、龙卷风、海滩及金梭鱼等队伍名称，最终由热火（Heat）雀屏中选，这词不仅代表着迈阿密当地炎热的气候及热情的居民，同时更期待这支篮球队能如热火般如日中天、蒸蒸日上。
布鲁克林篮网
队名由来就比较Freestyle一点，没有什么历史渊源。前身球队纽泽西美洲人，于1968年迁移至纽约，而当时纽约已经有2支职业球队，分别为MLB 棒球的纽约大都会（Mets）、NFL美式足球的纽约喷射机（Jets ），球队老板为了获得纽约当地民众的支持，故意取了篮网（Nets），随后尽管球队又搬回纽泽西也没有更改队名，最终一直沿用至今。
费城76人
前身为雪城国民（Syracuse Nationals），是NBA最元老的球队之一。1963 年，球队从雪城迁移至了费城，顶替原先费城勇士（金州勇士前身）的位置，成为费城当家的职业篮球队，在成功迁移的当下，球队老板便决定要将队伍名称取为76人，为了要向在1776年于费城签下独立宣言的那群伟人，毕竟没有了他们，就不会有美国的诞生。
波士顿凯尔特人
凯尔特人是当时远洋渡海，来到美洲的爱尔兰国民当中的某个民族名称。1946年建队时，波士顿当地有非常多爱尔兰的后裔，再加上当时纽约有一支名叫凯尔特人的球队战绩不错，因此球队老板便决定将凯尔特人，作为队伍名称。值得一提的是，当初老板心目中，还有像是奥林匹亚人、旋风、独角兽等候选名称，如果今天叫做波士顿独角兽，你能接受吗？
芝加哥公牛
芝加哥是美国第3大城市，畜牧业非常发达，肉类加工业也相当强盛，1966年，当芝加哥要成立职业篮球队时，球队老板原本要取名为斗牛士，不过由于芝加哥其他球队，几乎都是以动物名称为主，因此顺应潮流下，老板最终还是命名为芝加哥公牛（Bulls）。公牛代表敢冲、敢拼、无所畏惧的精神象征，相信老板及球迷，都期待这支篮球队能像公牛般勇往直前。
密尔沃基雄鹿
密尔瓦基位于威斯康辛州，当地的狩猎风气相当盛行，1968年球队建立之时，球队老板同样让当地民众参与投票，选出最适合的队伍名称，最终是由知更鸟（Robins）高票当选，但由于后来球队认为知更鸟和篮球队的形象有些不符，无法完美衬托出球队那种雄壮威武的硬派气势，所以最终便决定以当地另一个特色动物雄鹿（Bucks）作为队名，并一直沿用至今。
克里夫兰骑士
1970年克里夫兰建立职业篮球队之初，由报纸投稿刊登的方式，发起取队名活动，最终由骑士（Cavaliers）以6000多票的票数当选，而队名发想者表示骑士一词代表着无所畏惧、永不屈服等精神意涵。当时被列为候选名单的有“总统”等名字，为什么会出现总统？原因在于克里夫兰所属的俄亥俄州，在过去历史上曾诞生7 名美国总统，仅次于维吉尼亚州（8 次）。
底特律活塞
活塞是NBA全联盟中历史最悠久的球队，1941年，球队成立于印第安那州韦恩堡，名为韦恩堡左纳活塞，当时球队创办者是专门制造汽车引擎的企业老板Fred Zollner，1957年球队迁移至底特律，由于底特律刚好就是汽车大城的关系，跟活塞（Pistons）形象非常吻合，因此最终球队老板也决定延用活塞这个名称。
印第安纳步行者
印第安那以赛车、赛马闻名，当地赛车比赛“印第安纳波利斯500”每年都会举办，是和F1齐名的世界著名赛车盛事之一，而赛中带头的前驱车，就叫做Pacers。在另一方面，当地赛马竞技中的参赛马匹，也正好叫做Pacers。因此，最终在1967年，要成立篮球队时，就用Pacers作为队伍名称。
纽约尼克斯
尼克斯（Knicks）一词为复数形，Knick其实是一种缩写，全名为Knickerbocker，是17世纪从荷兰移民到美洲的后裔，所流行的一种灯笼裤穿搭，当时在纽约路上，几乎都能看见灯笼裤的身影。1946年，纽约要建立职业篮球队时，球队老板便以Knickerbocker为灵感，作为队伍名称，就这样纽约尼克斯便诞生了，创立至今都是这个名字。
奥兰多魔术
1988年奥兰多也想要成立一支职业篮球队，并也利用投票方式一同想出队伍名称，候选名单包含太空人、魔术、佛罗里达人等等，但最终是由挑战者（Challenger）以最高票之姿脱颖而出，后来球队经过一连串讨论后，还是决定将队名改为魔术（Magic），其原因是为了想要向当地赫赫有名的迪士尼乐园总部致敬，魔术一词正好和迪士尼那充满奇幻的世界相互呼应。
夏洛特黄蜂
1988年，原先球队老板想要用精神（Spirit）当作队伍名称，结果引发当地民众反弹，后来举办票选活动，最终黄蜂（Hornets）脱颖而出。2002年球队迁移至纽奥良，老板决定将队名，更改成当地的代表性动物山猫（Bobcat），后来原本的纽奥良黄蜂变成纽奥良鹈鹕后，夏洛特当地居民想要恢复先前的队名，最终在2014年又变回夏洛特黄蜂。
华盛顿奇才
成立于1961年，前身为芝加哥包装工，后来又改名芝加哥西风。在球队迁移至巴尔的摩，又改名为巴尔的摩子弹。1973年搬至华盛顿特区，改成首都子弹，隔了1年之后，又改为华盛顿子弹。1997年，由于华盛顿当地枪枝泛滥，老板认为子弹一词有些暴力且不当，因此举办票选活动，最终由奇才（Wizards）当选。
亚特兰大老鹰
老鹰的球队历史丰富，1946 年，球团建立于3 座城市之间并命名为三城黑鹰，后来这3 座城市合并变为现今的阔德城。黑鹰（Blackhawks）为当地曾替美洲原住民奋战的印地安人领袖的名字，1951 年球队迁移至密尔瓦基后，将其名缩短为老鹰（Hawks），随后搬至圣路易、一直到现在的亚特兰大，都采用原本的队伍名称。

Indeed, Lakers would be much better off if they signed Kawhi for the 32 mil and filled the roster with vet min/G-league players.
But if he stays/goes to Clippers/elsewhere, Lakers will have to use the 32 mil to fill the roster, and considering the contracts thrown so far, those 32 mil won't go too far.

as long as he is healthy, his smarts are indispensable. he is incredibly gifted athletically, so even if he is a bit slower he's still going to be moving well relative to the typical NBA player, aside from his length and skill. it's all about health. hopefully the give him any needed load management so he can be ready for the post season.
